NOW HIRING: Outside Detail Officer (Detention Center)
We are currently accepting applications for an Outside Detail position. This position is restricted to mandated (POST-certified) personnel only.
Salary: $44,633.00 annually
Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8-hour shifts
Position Summary
The Outside Detail Officer is responsible for the secure transportation and supervision of inmates outside the detention facility. This position is key to maintaining safety, security, and professionalism in all off-site operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise inmates on outside detail assignments
- Maintain custody and security of inmates at all times
- Search inmates for weapons, drugs, and contraband
- Maintain accurate transportation and activity records
- Operate and maintain assigned vehicles
- Ensure all duties comply with local, state, and federal laws and safety standards
- Assist with general detention officer duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid Georgia driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
- Must meet Georgia POST certification requirements
- Completion of an 80-hour Basic Jail Officer Course
- Mandated personnel only
Work Environment
- Work performed in vehicles, detention facilities, and outdoor environments
- Exposure to weather conditions and potentially hazardous situations
- Requires physical activity including lifting, standing, bending, and extended driving
